Last year we were unable to personally acknowledge the scholars who were awarded the RSL Queensland Scholarship. This year, we were finally back at recognising in person the new RSL Queensland scholars supported through RSL Queensland.
My thanks to Ms Wendy Taylor, State Deputy President of RSL Queensland who hosted the scholarship ceremony. We were treated to a beautiful winter’s evening in Brisbane, where we saw the 2022 and 2023 scholars receive their certificates. This is truly the most rewarding part of my job.
It was inspiring to hear Alumni guest speaker, Sarah Mortensen, speak about the direct impact her scholarship made on her ability to study, and her ultimate success. Her scholarship not only supported her financially but also filled her with a sense of belief, which is so important in tertiary education.
The journey through tertiary education is not always smooth, we know that AVCAT’s support, and the support of our sponsors such as RSL Queensland, provide our scholars with a great opportunity to achieve their goals.
Congratulations to all our new RSL Queensland Scholarship recipients.
