AVCAT welcomes new sponsor Certa Cito

AVCAT is delighted to announce the Certa Cito Foundaton will be sponsoring a new scholarship in 2026.

The Royal Australian Corps of Signals comprises technical specialists that provide communications, electronic warfare and cyber capabilities to support military operations. For a century, Army signallers have been at the heart of military operations – providing, protecting, and evolving military communications. Signallers have ensured commanders can make informed decisions and troops stay connected on operations. Signallers are also involved in cyber and electronic warfare operations in support of the Australian Defence Force. Their dedication, sacrifices, and resilience have been essential to our success, and this milestone is an opportunity to reflect on their role in shaping our history and future.

The Certa Cito Foundation is the Official Charity of the Royal Australian Corps of Signals, dedicated to caring, connecting and commemorating our vibrant Signals Community. We represent thousands of men and women and their families who are currently serving and tens of thousands of veterans, families and supporters whose lives have been touched by the Corps. CCF exists to ensure the Australian Signals Community – current and former service personnel, their families and our ADF colleagues who are connected to or have supported the Corps – are connected and supported and their service is never forgotten. The Foundation focuses on three pillars: Care, Connect, Commemorate.

The Certa Cito Foundation Scholarship Fund is a new initiative dedicated to advancing education and supporting training within the Signals Community. The Fund is founded on a simple but powerful mission: to advance education, enable personal and professional growth for current and former members and their families within the RA Sigs, ADF communications community, and those who have served with Signals units. By providing scholarships, grants, and targeted assistance, the Fund seeks to empower individuals at every stage of their career and educational journey —from school students to transitioning veterans to upskilling professionals. Our focus is Investing in Education and Empowering the Future.

“The Certa Cito Scholarship fund is delighted to partner with AVCAT in this important support of children and grandchildren of veterans from the Signals Community.” MAJGEN Marcus Thompson, Chair of the Certa Cito Scholarship Fund.

AVCAT is proud to have the Certa Cito Foundation sponsor the child of a veteran as they begin their tertiary education journey. Supporting education and honouring service—this is what makes a real difference.” Len Russell, AVCAT CEO.
