Meet My Sponsor with Bravery Trust

AVCAT Scholarships Manager Robyn Richardson reports on the first online Meet My Sponsor event

By Robyn Richardson – Scholarships Manager AVCAT

This year’s lockdowns meant we couldn’t hold our usual presentation events in all states, so we introduced our new virtual Meet My Sponsor events.

Last week, I was joined online by Garth Callender – Bravery Trust Chair, Belinda Wilson – Bravery Trust CEO and Len Russell – AVCAT CEO.

Bravery Trust talked about the work they do. Why they sponsor a Bravery Trust scholarship, and their Bravery Trek supporting Aussie veterans.

AVCAT Scholar Maddison updated us on her life as a student in Canberra. The challenges and highlights of the last year, and what her scholarship has meant to her, both financially and with building connection with her family.

The meeting evolved into a relaxed sharing of life, interests, study, business and our pets!

It was great to hear Bravery Trust’s genuine interest and pleasure in being able to meet Maddison and offer support, including an invitation to contact them for advice and assistance with study and professional connections.

Maddison showed a keen interest in supporting the Bravery Trek, we wish her all the best in her efforts!

I thoroughly enjoyed this virtual event and look forward to many more opportunities like these for our scholarship sponsors and scholars to connect.
