TPI SA & VVAA SA Presentation

AVCAT Scholars Lacey, Laura, Kyra, Jake & Kimberley

AVCAT CEO Len Russell and Scholarships Manager Robyn Richardson attended a presentation morning tea at TPI House in Adelaide for recipients of the TPI SA Scholarship and the VVAA SA Scholarship.

TPI SA President Leon Eddy OAM welcomed scholars and guests relaying the thoughts of TPI SA members for scholars saying, ‘Well done, congratulations. Now here’s the ball, you run with it. We will help you continue your education, but it’s up to you to make it happen!’ Leon went on to say, ‘We understand that you have a bewildering array of courses, ambitions, goals, and life facts [sic] but that’s OK. Just let it happen, deal with what you must and learn from it. You can do it!’

Len says, ‘It was a pleasure to present the new TPI SA and VVAA SA 2021 scholars their scholarship certificates at a morning tea hosted by TPI-SA at their Adelaide office. Attending with the scholars was a small number of their family members. It was terrific to be able to speak with not only each of the scholars and hear more about their study plans but also the family and the veterans of the scholars. At the presentation we were also able to include those scholars from the 2020 cohort and present them with their scholarship certificates, we were unable to do so in 2020 due to COVID restrictions.’

Reflecting on the day Robyn says, ‘It was wonderful to meet some of our South Australian scholars their families and our sponsors and to hear from Ethan Ashworth (AVCAT Alumni and guest speaker), about the valuable support of his AVCAT scholarship in enabling him to complete his degree. Thank you to TPI SA for generously hosting this presentation event.’
