War Widows Day 2024

I was honoured to attend the third War Widows Day Service at the Cenotaph in Martin Place, Sydney on 19 October.
Ms Tricia Hobson, Chair of Families of Veterans Guild, opened the ceremony with a warm welcome to all those in attendance.
She spoke about the importance of honouring the sacrifices of war widows and their families.

Tricia reflected “War Widows Day serves as a reminder of Australia’s history, of the cost of our peace and security and the foundations on which our country was built.”
Throughout the service there were moving tributes from past leaders of War Widows NSW and a musical tribute provided by the Australian Navy Band.
