Corey East – AVCAT Alumni

The Hon Matt Thistlethwaite MP, Assistant Minister for Veterans’ Affairs gave a terrific speech on the significance of the Long Tan Bursary and the impact it has on recipients’ lives.

AVCAT Alumnus Corey East shared his experience as an AVCAT Scholar and recipient of the 2016 TLC Scholarship.

Reflecting on his scholarship Corey said, ‘I really can’t express enough the impact that both these scholarships had on me, the financial support gave me the resources and time to focus and excel… I was proud that I was given this opportunity to represent my Grandfather’s achievements and sacrifices through my studies… and that’s exactly what I did.’

Thank you to our scholars, their families, DVA and our generous sponsors TPI NSW, Global Defence Solutions, Mellori, and Legacy Australia, who attended the event and helped make the day a great success. Congratulations to all AVCAT Scholars in New South Wales.
