Downer is sponsoring three new scholarships. The Downer Defence Australian Veterans’ Family Scholarships are for the children and grandchildren of Australian ex-serving veterans.

Robyn Richardson AVCAT Scholarships Manager says, ‘Downer’s commitment expands our capacity to empower students pursuing tertiary education. This partnership demonstrates Downer’s dedication to Australian Veterans and enhances our ability to make a meaningful impact in the lives of veteran families.’

Downer is the leading provider of integrated services in Australia and New Zealand. An Australian company, it has a strong 80-year history supporting Defence, and a really strong workforce of veterans and veteran spouses who continue to serve their country through their work managing the Defence Estate, their technical and advisory services, and on Defence major projects. Downer is a Founding Member of the Australian Veterans Employers Coalition (AVEC), driving awareness for sustainable engagement and improved employment outcomes for veterans.

The three Downer Defence Australian Veterans’ Family Scholarships will be awarded in 2025. Applications for 2025 scholarships are open now and close at midnight on 31 October. Apply for a scholarship here.
