AVCAT hosts five long-term NSW and national sponsors at a celebratory morning tea

In an informal ceremony, AVCAT CEO Len Russell presented long-term sponsors with a plaque recognising their ongoing support. AVCAT welcomed representatives from Australian War Widows NSW, Chatswood RSL Club, Legacy Australia, NSW Nurses & Midwives Association and the Vietnam Veterans, Peacekeepers & Peacemakers Association of Australia (NSW Branch).
Len Russell said, ‘These scholarships make a clear difference in the lives of our scholars. In some cases, a scholarship is what makes tertiary education possible. And in all cases, a scholarship is greatly appreciated, giving our scholars the time they need to succeed in their studies.’
Renee Wilson, CEO of Australian War Widows NSW, commented that she is proud to support these scholarships as they increase access to education for defence families, who face more challenges, including intergenerational trauma, than their civilian counterparts.
Graham Boyd, CEO of Legacy Australia, said Legacy had been with AVCAT since the beginning and was proud to continue supporting these scholarships.
Anne Samuelson, Manager–Professional Team at NSW Nurses and Midwives Association, commented on the importance of supporting aspiring nurses and midwives at a time when the community needs more nurses and midwives.
Thank you to our long-term scholarship sponsors who continue to make a difference, transforming lives through education.
