The Newtown RSL sub-branch has been a long-term supporter of AVCAT and has sponsored scholarships for more than ten years.
At their sub-Branch October meeting, AVCAT CEO, Len Russell presented Danial Perkins (branch Treasurer) and Phil Hurren with a plaque recognising the sub-branch’s generous long-term support.
Len said, ‘It is this type of grass-roots support which the Newtown RSL sub-Branch has made over so many years, since 2014, that makes a real and tangible difference in the lives of the veteran families, especially the scholars they support.’
After the meeting and plaque presentation, Len was invited to talk informally with the members and to share their BBQ lunch.
